Wanted to get back into riding after a long break and with a limited budget from "She who must be obeyed" I've purchased a XJ750RL. Mechanic reckons for a 20+ year bike it's in good mechanical nick.

Of course I'm now discovering the joys of an older bike:

Fuel flooded garage floor - discovered owner had removed the fuel filter and replaced it with a joining pipe and no clamps. Install fuel filter and clamps

Electrical problem with engine running rough and cutting out - discovered the wonders of corroded electrical connectors :) Replaced fuse box with inline fuse holders

Turning headlights on turns front turn signals on - hmm must of done something wrong with fuse changeover or have now highlighted another problem. Will have to post in the other forum if I can't track it down.

Great to have another bike as I'd forgotten how much fun they are to ride and glad I found this site to help me along the way :)

    Welcome aboard Crow.
you will find a wealth of info on this site just as I have, and continue to do.
Be sure to mention specifics about you bike in your signature.
That way when you ask a question people will know what bike you have.
This place is like having a personal mechanic to answer your questions!

First time EVER that I've seen an H. Rider Haggard character listed in a post on any MC forum!
