seca and maxim have the same frame?

    this bike is forsale near me and I need a new frame for my 82 XJ650. Is a 82 seca frame the same as a maxims?

    "Same but different" in various features, especially motor mounts, kickstand mounting, probably centerstand mounting, and rear seat pan rails.......

    I think the Seca 650 is a completely different animal; on the Maxim the seat rail configuration and mounting as well as the frame from under the tank back is a different shape to allow for the Max's different styling and to achieve a lower seat height.

    I don't think a whole lot will swap easily...

    But that's a pretty nice 650 Seca, I think you should pick it up anyway...... :D

    If I had the space for another bike I would, it is only 350 bucks.

    You're killing me! I'd buy that bike for $350 in a heartbeat. Even with that hideous rectangular headlight!
