I was looking for an 85/86 XJ700 for my wife but Found this...

The po said he never rode it. It just sat in his garage for two years. When i pulled up he was trying to jump it from his Jeep(while the Jeep was running) I stoped him and told him he could fry something. He bought it from a friend to help him out but his friend never came back for the bike. Got the Title and picked it up for $550. It a little dirty and the seat need recovering but overall its not bad. It only has 23000 Miles on it.

Swaped out the carbs and tires and batery from my 82 XJ750 (its torn apart), Changed the oil, checked the breaks (no delamination). Got the inspection and registered it.

Now she is going to have a hard time keeping me off it while I put mine back together.

I can't even get my wife to ride on my bike let alone have her own. Nice purchase, always liked the "Midnight"

I got her started on a Suzuki GN125, Then moved to riding my XJ750, She realy wanted a V-Star 650 but this was in our price range and sh likes it better than mine.

Now that's a sharp looking bike. Great deal too. Hope your wife likes hers as much as I like mine.

Funny, TCoop. SWMBO is also looking at a V-Star! She will probably buy one in January. And we will give her XJ650 to my 23 year old son.

What is it with women and the V-Stars?

Although, I gotta say, I can see how easy it will be for her to ride it.

And it is still a Yamaha, so that's cool.
