Hey guys I wanted to know if it is possiable to change the gearing on these bikes? I am considering taking my xj750 to bonniville next year but wasn't sure where it would top out at.

My Dad just got back and I saw pics of some old bikes using a driveshaft. Or can you convert one that is shaft drive to chain?

    Thanks

Changing to chain requires an engine swap or some serious machining and fab work.

Swapping the rear differential with one from a yamaha xs 750/850 will lower your rpms at speed. However unless you have some engine mods you will not have the power to go much faster even with the gearing change.
