Didn't mean to start a new subject.
    Was just throwing that in.
The doc said he was hesitant to do the surgory yet,
but he would want to replace both at once so to not have to go in a second time to fix the other one later.
Anyway, I have 2 disk losing thickness with 1 bulging.
Minimal pain in the morning but I have to sit alot at night.
Pain only gets bad if I'm on my feet for 15 or 20 minutes straight.
Going to the mall is, get what you need and get out.
The doctor I'm seeing was one of the first in the US to do disk
    replacements.(4 years ago)
Now he is one of a few in the US doing doubles on a trial basis.
The ones he has done to this point have resulted in on pain after healing up.
I'm going to hold off as long as I can.
4 years ago, fusion was the only option, now double replcements are almost a reality.
A couple weeks ago he was in Gremany to train other docs to do double replacements.
If anyone is interested, his name is Matthew Gornet at The Orthopedic Center of St.Louis.

I was never offered disc replacement. Wonder if its still too new to be done here on the east coast?? My dr never even mentioned it as a possiblity. I will have to keep it in mind though cause I am sure down the road I am going to need another one done.. replacement sounds like a better option then fusion.

Yeap, and its a pain in the a$$ too. The pain I was having went from my back, down through the butt and into the legs.. Mostly the left side but some on the right side too... When it gets to the point that you can do absolutely nothing without pain, its time to do something.... LOL

    Another site of interest
Gornet is one of 4 in advisery board here.
There's alot of info on replacements if you do some google searches.
I even Googled my docs name to see what came up.
Lots of stuff with his name is assosiated to.
    I guess that's good.

It's definitely worth taking the time to find something secure for the sake of one your body and two your motorcycle. Allow me to share my story:
I was using a bottle jack and a piece of 2x4 on my first bike 76 CB30T. I was using one of those wooden stools (from the picnic set) to sit tools and what not on. I had the tire and forks off to replace the oil seals. Well to make a long story short the bike started to fall and somehow or another I had enough time to cover my head with my hand before the weight of the bike pinned my face to she stool and trapped my other hand (which was covering my head)...I know tough to picture so here I am flailing around with my left hand hollaring for help because I sure as heck refused to let the bike fall over on the garage floor...Finally my intensity raised the neighbor's attention and he was kind enough to hold the bike while I slid the make-shift block of wood back underneath the frame long enough for me to re-think how I had it hoisted, correct and complete.
