Average Age of an Xj rider (Survey)

Thought the question would best be asked through the survey feature.

What is the average age if an XJ rider?

What age group do you fall into?

 

29 going on 12 I've been told.

 

25, bought it at 17

 

I was 49 when I bought my bike. We had just sold a house and we had some coin in the bank, so I figured I'd better go for it while I'm still young enough. That was 3 years and 20,000 miles ago.

 

I'm 63 will be 64 next month, have ridden all of my life it seems and have enjoyed every mile. I ride a 82xj 1100 at the present time and own a 80xs 1100 standard. Ride-On

 

I'm 36. Bought my xj650 at 22. Sold it to a family friend when I was 30. Just bought it back...I was crazy to sell it - but even with two kids and a mortgage now, I didn't want anyone else owning my bike.

 

i am 28 my father gave me the 82 seca turbo not running since haveing iti have got it to run but not ride

i looked into what it takes to get these bikes running and seeing how my low 24000 dollar a year salary is already stretched by four kids a wife and an x wife .

i cannot afford this bike so if anyone wants it just call me and shoot me a price please be reasonable i can get more than a thousand out of it just in parts thanks my phone number is 765 524 7573 i live in indiana central indiana ohio is an half hour away and illinois as about two hours away and kentucky about three and michigan about four so let me know please can use the money

 

How come 147 people have viewed this thread - but only 32 votes to this point? Are there that many people who dont' want to give their age? Are their that many non XJ riders viewing this thread? Strange....

 

My birth certificate says I'm 45. My wife says I'm still 18.

 

I posted to the question as did others. The poll has since been introduced. I know the numbers are now inaccurate as there were several responses over 60 and one at 74. These are not reflected in the poll results. Maybe we could start the poll over and entice everyone to respond again.

I have enjoyed reading the ages and comments in the thread. Damned good idea for a topic. Helps to get to know fellow XJers

 

I was 37 when i brought my XJ to restore her, ill probably be 41 when i get to ride it.
I posted my age, as always i fall into the average slot.

 

Some of us view the thread more than once so we can see if the poll results have changed from day to day.

 

I am 45 and just brought first bike. Hope to have license by age 46.

 

I bought my XJ650 Maxium new in 1982 when I was 42, now I'm 69

 

I'm 44, but I have the body of a 43 year old.

sorry if I've used that joke before, and I'm pretty sure i have.

 

50. Bought XJ at 48. Finally running great carbs, new tire. Started riding at 19 with big break and family in between. Bike feel into my lap, free + cost to fix up. New exhaust, tire, carb work, fuse box, sensors, battery, lots of swearing and second thoughts. Hope to ride for another 50. Some thoughts of getting a newer bike.

 

Just turned 27 and love riding!

 

66 and my ride is a 82 XJ550.

 

28. My problem is in the title. I, unfortunately, am NOT an XJ Rider. I am an XJ owner, but I mostly drink beer in the garage and look at it. Hopefully it will be running before I turn 30.
