    Well, I've gone and done it - I've joined the dark side and bought an 85 V Max. I'm pretty psyched...and bummed at the same time, as I will be selling my 82 xj 650 maxim bobber. I'll miss this excellent forum and the amazing level of knowledge and expertise, I'll miss the parts demigod Chacal, and I'll miss all the stares, thumbs up and strange questions I got while riding around town on the bobber. No doubt I'll have to get another 650 sometime down the road. Thanks to all on this fine forum. Hope there's a Vmax forum half ass good as this one. Ciao.

    Welcome to the world of Vmax... the forum above is good the folks are tight knit and supportive. Lots of good info.

    You don't need to go... Hey these guys still put up with me..... Of course there will be a day when I join the ranks of xj owners... after all the wife needs a bike 8O Please... that was a joke... :lol: I hope to find a xj 400 for her and a xs 850 for me.

    mopheos your going to love you Vmax. I tell my wife daily (really daily) how much I love her and my bike!! Mark, yeh, I love this bike short of the color..which has been a source of some ribbing until we run, then it tends to shut them up. :lol: I had a friend on a harley giving me poop, my wife heard them saying "Oh here comes another crotch rocket rice burner" :x she said, " no it's a HOG KILLER" :mrgreen: They started to run their mouth again when I walked up and when we went over the mods and #s they shut up quick!! Should be able to silence a few more when I get done with the carb rebuild, adding velocity stacks and some new spark boots and wires. :wink:
