Saw this xj700 on ebay 8O.

In the time it took to go talk to my wife about it and come back to the computer, someone already bought it :( . We were just figuring out the logistics of how to pick it up, but I guess we don't have to now. Hopefully someone will love it. If this is too trivial, to add to the forum, please don't hesitate to tell me. Last thing I want to do is be "one of those guys" that irritates people. Sometimes you just gotta talk to someone when you're heartbroken though! Cheers!

Tough loss. But now that you got the ok for a buy, if one comes up again, you can grab it w/o the discussion. ;)

As for logistics, just plan of renting a small U-haul truck to go get it. It's about the easiest way to pick up a bike.

I'll be sure to tell my wife you said it's ok :D! Just wish I would have seen this before I spent a bunch of money on mine to get it back on the road.

The trailer idea is a good one. Probably about the cheapest, easiest, and you won't find yourself stuck somewhere in the middle of Nevada trying to figure out how to get a broken down bike home!

Actually, just a small U-Haul truck, no trailer. Just drive the truck to the bike, and throw it in the back. They have nice built in ramps.

Saves the trouble if you don't have a cage with a hitch on it, or your local U-Haul doesn't have trailers.

lol...too trivial for an internet bulletin board? Is that even possible? Besides, if it IS possible, I don't think this qualifies. That would have been cool!

Just be careful, the new 10' van front ones they have don't have a ramp. I was lucky and the Yamaha dealer was 200 yards down the road so I could use theirs. Otherwise the U-Haul trucks work well. My brother has rented a pickup from a car rental for a shorter trip and that worked fine. Some U-Hauls have motorcycle trailers too, they are around $15, you just need a hitch on your car.
