I have an 83 XJ 900 that has the stock handle bars, and I wanted to know if I could change the up tree with one from a XJ650 because it has bar clamps. I think it will work but thought I would check with yall to see before I took everything apart.

    Thanks

on my 82 xj1100, I unbolted the stock aluminum bars, and took 4 of the standard upper u shaped clamps and bolted in a standard 7/8" handlebar. I had to get a couple longer allen bolts, but other than that, it was very simple and it's very strong.

basically 4 of these (2 upside down)

On my bike the handle bars have teeth on them. There are no regular bar clamps. Need to figure out if I take the top triple tree off that I can replace it with one from a XJ 650

Cool looking bike thanks for your input

if so, it unbolts from the upper triple with the same bolt hole spacing to mount up round bar style brackets.
