I bought a "Universal" mirror that is not dependant on which side it goes on. I installed it on the left side - works fine.

I like the mirror, so I want to by another for the right side. But before I do, I wanted to make sure it would go on the right side without any issue.

However, it will not screw on. I turned it counterclockwise (or anti-clockwise for those over the pond). It does not want to go on.

Am I out to lunch and missing something here?

The right hand mirror mount has a left hand thread. You will either need a mirror which has a left hand thread, or you can buy a set of adapters so that the Yamaha bar clamps can accept the same mirrors as any other bike. You can get these adapters from Mike's XS.

X2 on the Mike's XS adapters. Best deal out there.

BikeMaster makes some GP mirrors that are very similar to OE. They're about $15 IIRC.

Be careful. So does EMGO; I have one nearly new set that LOOK really cool and OEM-like, except for one thing: they don't stay put at road speed; the combination of wind blast and vibration causes them to continually sag out of adjustment. The ones I got that WORK cost around $30. Beware the cheap ones.

I can vouch for the Bikemaster ones; they're what I have on my bike and they work fine.
