    Hello Everyone,
I'm new to yamahas and bikes in general My Dad owns a harley and i used to own a honda but never did get much of a chance to ever ride one as i didn't have my licence for bikes. anyway Im big into 4x4ing and have decided that i need to branch out now that i'm 30...lol. I always have loved bikes and now that i'm near done my jeep i wanted to try bikes. I'm a out of work welder (well i'm a snow plow driver now far from my real trade) and i live in kelowna BC Canada till this spring when i move back to the US. i just traded some tools i didn't need for a 1981 Yamaha Seca XJ750 and it arrives friday. now i must admit i love projects and i always have loved bobbers and caferacers...might be a bit of one extreme to the other ... and i'm not all to sure what i can do with this bike, but i can't wait to find out. as i don't know much about them i could use all the help and support i can get, so feel free to pass on web page links, advice, cool mods, and anything you can think off. I'll finaly be getting my bike lic in the spring so if there is anyone that wants to ride.... lets go
Here is some pics of the new bike

Good looking bike. First word of advice as far as mods, keep the engine stock. If you hear the word PODS turn around and run as fast as you can.

I plan on lowing the rear. maybe even hard tailing it. I'm a welder by trade so that wouldn't be a problem. i'm also thinking of some new z bars ( i think they are called z handlebars) and going with a solo seat. my dad has a air ride solo of his police edition harley road king which would be an interesting adition if i can figure out how to intergrade it. i'd also like more of a springer front end the ones with the springs up high on handlebars . i've read though this can be a problem on these bikes so i'm not sure if it will happen. as for the motor my only plans where to paint the pipes black with a high quility header paint, i learned when building my cj5 don't cheap out on header paint mine just burnt off...lol...anyway could use advice and thanks everyone

just took delievery of my new bike !!!!! yahoo already i broke something...lol the clutch cable was pretty much toast till i touched it and it gave way to my charm and just simply broke. bike has 40,000 km's on it so just over 20,000 miles and seems to run verry strong. Needs some slight carb adjustments which should be fun...lol
