I was wondering this...dont know why i never asked in here...i picked up a 82 yahmaha maxim 650 with 29,500miles....its in good shape, has been down, missing tank tags(plan to redo tank anyways) and some rust here and there...I paid $650 for her..sound like a good deal, fair price or a bit much?

My 81 650 Max had 16000 miles on it, never been down, ran, but needed some tlc and paid $1100, and that was a fair price for that bike where I'm from, so I would say you got good deal

Did it come ready to be put on the road? If so $650 sounds like a great price, how cheap can you go for a nice ridable bike.

The real question here is, do you feel like you got a good deal?
Value, sort of like beauty is in th eye of the beholder (or in your case the buyer)
Looks like a nice enough bike, definatly good trading material if it wasn't really what you wanted.
I'd ride er and see if she grows on me!
I wouldn't spend more than 1000.00 on a bike that is worth 1000.00 fixing er up though. (those numbers were mearly arbitrary numbers)

Well said Hvnbnd. The best deal is where both parties are happy.

I paid $500 for my XJ650R so another $100 more is a damn good deal still in my opinion.
