Anyone try it? I realise there would be some swingarm mods;just looking to see if anyone has blazed that trail before....
i could pick up both rims, rotors, calipers, etc. and the final drivefor cheap.
Not too concerned about the final drive, because of gearing issues, but the prospect of wider laced rims interests me. I have a spare bike for parts to modify a swingarm (thinking of extending the driveshaft and adding double knuckles-u joints). 8O

My V-Star 1100 has a completely different driveshaft set-up than the XJ 's.
However, the Virago 700 and 750 have been done on this site.
If you keep the enclosed driveshaft swingarm, you can't go wider.
If you extend the swingarm and make a clearance notch, a 150 can fit.

    What are you building ??

I don't plan on using any of the v-star drive components, they will just come as part of the package. There's no particular 'theme' for my project;I want it to be relatively understated-it looks 'stock' untill you look closer.
I was hoping I could get away with just maybe notching the swing arm and fabbing up an anchor for the brake-arm,but if I have to get 'creative' well,so be it!

Update...Did my swingarm mod with an R1 rim (200mm tire). So far looks BAAAD! Now have to deal with disk brake mounts, shock mounts and on and on.... I think fender & pillion are up for a change..whole lot lot of small shit needs to be attended to.
Later with more as time permits....
