I 've been buying parts on ebay for three projects. Last month I bought more than six items and found out the hard way about the feds limit of six electronic transfers only per month. I had never gone over this before so didn't even know about the limit thing. Something to do with 9/11 and the desert trash that likes living here. Anyway I buy the seventh part in November and Paypal emails me saying they charged my credit card because my Bank rejected the transaction. Not knowing about the 6 per month rule I start trying to straighten this out. Paypal says I can restart it by going through the "verifying" procedure with the bank routing number , small deposit and and withdrawal then fax this and fax that or... simply get the paypal credit card and my troubles are over ( if I don't mind their 26% interest rate should I ever have to make a few payments to catch it up). I must be becomming an old fogey. All this crafty financial fandangling is really starting to chap my _ss. There's nothing you can do though. Almost all the sellers are going to it and just passing the costs on to us.

The Banks are all all altering their Policy and Terms before the proposed legislation takes effect and regulates them.

I gave up ebay a while back because of their cramming Paypal down everyones' throats. From what I understand, sellers can still take other forms of payment, but they're not allowed to advertise this on their auctions. The buyer has to ask first.

Former CEO Meg Whitman is putting on a campaign to become governor of California -- we were to meet, I'd suggest she go back and put her own house in order before trying to move into someone else's.

I've still got my account there, but damned if I'm going to buy anything.

    Paypal sucks

I sold a bunch of KX125 parts to a guy in Wisconsin that saw my add on Syracuse,NY craigslist. Even though I have a verified address,it still took over a week for the funds to clear and be transferred to my checking account. Having to pay a percentage of my sale for the distinct honor of being inconvenienced really gives me a poor opinion of paypal. However, from a security aspect,it is a good way to pay. I won a Honda CL450 Scrambler exhaust from an Ebay seller that was located, ironically enough,in Green Bay,Wisconsin. The total price, including shipping, came to about $36. I felt I got a good deal, and I sent the scumbag a Postal money order for $50. He got $50,and I got nothing. Ebay couldn't help me because I didn't use paypal. Live and learn...

Here's the latest guys and gals. Did you know that you automatically become un-verified when you spend over $10K in your paypal history. I'm stuck with this one right now. I can't even re-verify my original bank account. If I want their credit card though that's no problem. Thirty minutes and I'm good to go! Not sure which way to go now. I don't want their frackin card just on principle alone much less the new account thing. Postal MOs are at least a buck , checks delay your shipping. WTF!

What if you were to re-register with Pay-pal with a new e-mail address? Just start over? Don't know if it would work but it would sure be nice to stick the screws to them for a change.

I have won 3 E-Bay autions where the deal went sour. In my experience it's when an item has a starting bid of 0.99 to $5.00 and is a low volume seller.
    Turbo 650 airshocks- - $36.00
    Seca 650 side covers - - $13.00
    Haynes repair manual- - $18.00 - -(collected)
(I included the posted shipping amounts)

Only one actually collected my money, the other 2 never did.
These people would rather cancel their E-Mail AND E-Bay accounts than ship their items that were for sale, and legally sold.
The one that took my money, "Pay-Bay" eventually re-imbursed me.

I bought a Satelite receiver for $150 from this guy that never sent it. I used paypal for the transaction. When I complained to them about it their final response was that they had emailed the guy several times and he was not responding so there was nothing they could do. That was "buyer protection". Fortunately I had used my credit card instead of the bank account I had on file with them. I call the credit card company and told them everything I had done and they said they would handle it. They did! They actually reversed the charge back into paypal somehow and credited my card account. All paypal ever did was email me saying I had caused an "unauthorized transaction against them". Never heard anything else about it though and eventually the "Open dispute" on my paypal account went away. They never tried to get it back so that might be how you make it work. Just don't give up!

A friend of mine is going through the same thing.
$10,000 to me is a pretty serious buyer!
They are standing firm, he contacts they about once a month.

Guess what… he HAS NOT bought ANYTHING in almost a yr.

I buy (XJ750) and sell ($250 camera, etc) on craigslist.
