hey guys i tried selling my 82 xj 3 times and every time im about to get the money i think of something else i want to do to it and i get cold feet and back out.. so finnaly today i was able to finish up the rear fender but all summer long i did about 10 projects to it. figured i would share the hard work, ilike responces because the more i do to this bike the more i like it . did the fender, header wrap, black trim on the tank fenders and vmax scoops, xj 700 gauges, batt gauge and indecator lights, blinkers , dual front brake rotors, seca forks, sport tires, screaming eagle mufflers from a harley waiting to put on forward controls

Pretty funky dude! I like it a lot. I really like the V-Max scoops on it. I might have to highjack that idea. Care to share more pics. You can email them to me if you wish. WesleyJN1975@yahoo.com

Sweet, I like what you did with the indicator lights and the guages. What are the LEDS below the the two LED indicators on the headlight? Battery monitor maybe? Anyways keep the the good work.

You did a hell of a job there dude. Really looks good. I agree with the other comment. The scoops do look factory.

I love seeing what one can do with these XJ's... Don't get me wrong. I love stock but I might pick me up another and see what I can do with one myself.

    Look froward to more updates.

Can I see a close-up of the idiot lights? From the inside would be awesome, too. I've been thinking of a minimalistic replacement, may have to pinch your idea.

    love the fender!
the scoops look pretty good too. do they provide any air
boost or just there for looks?
what are the header wraps for? thats the first time i've ever
    seen such a thing.

as far as the inside of the light i went to auto zone and picked up 2 wire lights short ones so they wont hit the bulb...the lights lenths are about a half and inch and i bent the pins left and right so they would clear even more.. wireing them up is a snap remove the wires from the stock idiot lights they are two wires each cut put new connectors and hook them to the new lights , sorry im slow with pics its been raining and cold as hell the last month havent got a chance to get any new pics bikes been in back of garage

the scoops direct air right to the carbs so in the future when i do my pod install it will be a ram air. as far as now, they cool the carbs mabe not a huge gain but good none the less.. as far as header wrap my pipes were painted black and they are rusted so i went with the wrap to cover them up it makes them look good , also when you use header wrap it cut down on ambient temps from the pipes, helps cool the heads more at least thats my theory

thanks, if they indeed help to cool the head, then i may use them
    next summer.
as for the ram air.... keep us posted as you go, especially in re-
guards to compensation for the extra air flow and any increase in performance.
    thx.

I have heard you need to be careful using the header wrap on bikes. I know a guy whos friend used it and spilled gas on them and it caught fire and the wrap acted like a wick. He tried to put it out and his bike ended up burnt to a crisp. Just be careful not to spill gas on them.
