    Hello,

I haven't worked on my Maxim 650 for a while, and am going to take another stab at getting it running smoothly sometime early in 2010, but when I last touched it I was frustrated with not being able to get it running right. I'd like any recommendations for trustworthy shops in the Portland area that will work with me on getting this bike in good running shape.

I am specifically looking for a shop that will do some diagnosis and work with me to try to keep costs down - i.e. I have a pile of parts at home they can use, and have already gone through a bunch of work trying to figure it out. I would absolutely LOVE it if the shop would let me hang out while they're working on it so I could offer information and maybe learn something.

    Thanks!
    Aaron

Good luck, let me know if you find a good one. I've almost given up on letting other people work on my stuff. Seems like I'm almost always disappointed.

Ive done checking around when I first got my 650. Since its over 10 years old there arent many shops that will touch it. Fun Country in The Dalles may work on it.....

The Dalles seems a bit far for me. Hmm, well, if I find a place I'll post back. If not, I guess I'll hit it again myself!

Just to let you know, I checked Fun Country in The Dalles, they do do vintage bikes. Shop rate is $77/hr. Makes you cringe dont it?

It will be more rewarding and cheaper to! Just make sure you've got a manual.
