I need a new seat. Ok, not need, want. The seat i have is uncomfortable, and it feels like I slide forward on it. I'm looking for a new seat.

I'm not sure one a radical as the photo will fit an XJ but you can get it re-upholstered and have the foam cut out the way you want when they put the new cover on.

actually the picture is an 82 xj maxim. cut, trimmed and pated here from somewhere else. I'll start checking the upholstry shops to see how much to do it. I was just hoping to get one with less hassle, then build one to suit. extra parts is good you know!

I have a Corbin seat with a super high passeger back rest. It was recently re-upolstered, I bought it on eBay and decided to go with a sissy-bar and pad instead.

Woot, yes I am trying to sell it. I believe I paid $125 (usd) for it, that included shipping costs too, I think.
If you want to kind of want to see what it looks like , see singingotter's gallery, mine is almost a carbon copy.

hey guys, I'm new here, but just to give you an idea of what it may cost to re-apholster that seat of yours at one the local shops in my area in Maine...I got my Xj700x seat looked at today, and they quoted me approx.$140.00 or you could check out oldbikebarn.com for good quality cover you put on yourself for under $100.00

Hrm - has anyone tried one? I've got a spare seat pan and would try it - but is it worth it? It's half the price as a custom seat - but how about value? is it half as comfortble?

Had one on my XJ when I bought it, although it was pretty chewed up by squirrels/rats/or some other creature. It didn't fit as nicely as the stock seat, and I can't really vouch for the comfort since a lot of the padding was missing. Seemed to be pretty comfortable even chewed up though. I just don't like the look of them.

I'm about to recover my mom's scooter. The job is fairly easy if your not looking for style. A straight forward cover is fairly cheap but you MUST have a stapler that can shoot a 1/4 inch length staple into the heavy plastic the seat base is made of (guess that means pneumatic only, my Arrow T-50 can't shoot it hard enough). My buddy used some of the newer urethane glues out there and said he was very pleased with the outcome. I'm not convinced untill I see it. He has also used short screws to help secure sections. Just to thoughts.

I think I have what you want. I had purchased a King/Queen seat and after putting it on, I felt I was sitting too far forward to be comfortable. (If you are tall, you might not want to do this.) So I put my original back on. It's been so long ago, I don't know how much it cost. Let me dig it out and see what shape it is in. Check back in a couple days.

Dug it out and it looks like the foam is still good, You use this to recover your old seat pan. See picture gallery.

I also got a 2-up King and Queen seat. I felt that it put me too far forward on the bike. Not good for tall riders. Willing to sell it including the seatpan.
