Ever crest a hill and get a eyeball full of sun ? instant blind, not a good way to ride…
A couple of strips of electrical tape on the top of the visor does the trick
Sorry if this is nubie stuff but I never heard it before
oh yea don't hit the brake .... the lady on the cell phone behind you is blind too

Wouldn't getting a shaded visor be a bit more practical? Or a sheet of window tinting. Electrical tape is easily removed I'll agree but I like to have my full range of vision unimpeded.

shortly after the sun gets in my eyes it gets dark, then my tinted visor makes my headlight even dimmer
impeded vision, haven't you ever driven half way to work in the morning in your car looking thru a six inch hole scraped in the frost and ice?
oh your in CA....never mind
that was a truly depressing flashback

Sorry 'bout that, I didn't mean to cause sorrow... Weather in the Ventura valley easily lends itself to year 'round riding.

I just wear sunglasses under my helmet, and then take them off when it gets dark. Also makes it nice to be able to ride with the visor up with the shades on, keeps stuff from getting in your eyes. In fact, I've thought about taking the visor completely off of the helmet and just wearing sunglasses. Don't ride much at night anyway...

I have a pair of sunglasses with the bike so in sunny weather, I wear them with the helmet - visor up if I can. In gloomy weather, I don't wear the glasses and have the visor down or mostly down.

On a side note, it snowed where I am today so you guys in CA can think of me shivering in my car while you are on the open road with your bike.
    :)

I've a set of prescription sunglasses. A good investment here in sunny So-Cal. Not too much, less than $100 USD (when I provide the frames, it gets cheaper).

Actually, J&P has sunglasses in their catalog (and online) that fit OVER your "seein' glasses" as it were. Although I finally sprung for perscription sunglasses myself. Heck, I use them more than the regular ones anyway!

Hey if the electrical tape does the trick like a sunvisor in a car, let him have at it.
    Never tried it myself.

Polock let us know if it works out.

tried it today, works great, took about five minutes to get used to it, there's realy nothing up there you should look at while riding anyhow
i think i'll start selling strips of tape for 12.95 and call them "shine busters" or something and get filthy rich

    or not
