If you havn't already, I would say go to him before you go anywhere else. He is a regular guy who is very communicative and you can always make sure you are getting the right part or the right quantity. Also he ships right away. Plus he obviously know a lot about these bikes. Just read some of his posts.

i plan on it . just the knowlege alone is worth it . plus im not sure but i think someone said he doesnt live far from me . Im hoping to learn alout more on these bikes . Its been along time since ive owned them altho i can probbibly just about fix anything on them knowing someone that knows more is allways a plus. Im allways looking for easier ways to fix things and when i do find ways i dont mind sharing. I was in the automotive parts business for over 20 years i really can relate to someone who know there parts not like now a days when you go to autozone or advanced and if its not in the computer they cant help you .getting into the books and going that xtra mile for someone is whats its all about in my book .

Haha... I get that. Well, there is definitely a lot of information here. Love working on these bikes. Finally get to do a full restoration on one now and this site, aside from the Clymer, is vital. I can do just about anything mechanically as well. When it comes to electronics... I end up using my motorcycle tools... Haha... not a good thing when fixing a laptop... especially when you are considering the ball peen hammer as one of the tools you really want to use.
But these bikes are great. I also have owned a couple... none as long lived as my xj... but the fj600 and xj650 seca were also great. In my opinion they should have called the 650 seca turbo (mine was a turbo) the Darth Vader or something. It was a beast for sure... til I destroyed 2nd gear. And the FJ was just a monster. Fast and torquey. That one should have been called Kung Fu warrior. Well, I guess "Seca" is cool enough. Just don't know what seca means.

    seca means dry in spanish!

as in laguna seca, "dry pond"

also in slang it means a skinny girl...

What about the seca made them think to name it "Dry"? Or maybe they were going for the slang. :)

hmm i think maybe its named after the "laguna seca" raceway?
i think it was quite popular in the 70's?

    or maybe still is dunno...
thats the only reason i can think of,
or maybe it means something in japanese?

anyway i cant open chacals website!!
    how do i order?
