If I were you, I would put a tarp down to work on top of before that carpet has something on it worthy of wifey comments. 8O

I personally like the cold temps. To a point. 45* is below that point. Solved the problem by taking the exhaust hose off the old Maytag. Warms it up pretty well. 3 bay garage insulated to outside.

I'm covered in the summer as I put a 1 ton A/C in the window. Helps a lot but still wont get it it to 55*.

Yeah well, uninsulated workshop, small wood stove and a propane heater. On a really cold day 45 is about max on temp.

I wish I had some real shelter. I work out in my "portable garage" (read tarp with a frame) at 14 F (-10 C). I have a little heater attached to a propane tank, that might bring it up to 23 F (-5 C).

The joys of having small kids - I only get to work when they go to bed - so its dark out by then.

    Keeps me awake!

Ya... I have been putting a beat up bed spread down for when things get hot and heavy in there. But the tarp really is a must. not gonna lie.

How do you keep the rest of the house from smelling
    like bike parts?
I would love it but the ol'lady would make me sleep in the shed!

I don't... haha. I have a good woman though. She is all about whatever the hell I am doing when it comes to the bike so... as far as the tarp is concerned... I am getting around to it. But the carpet in that room is junk anyway.

Thankfully, the hideous state I live in manages to keep me warm (FL). Its flat, its ugly, but its warm. With a construction light on me I manage to work up a sweat even on days like today. I wouldn't mind an indoor playground like that, but Im always getting gas or somesort of cleaning chemical on the floor, really dont think I could ever work inside. Besides I always smell of fuel and I've got the door covered in grease.

Well, we rent an apartment so its not going to bother me too much if it smells like motorcycle. And I know that sounds bad but we take care of the place, we are clean, but our lease is almost up and our landlord is a (derogatory word beginning with the letter 'c' also used in slang to refer to a specific part of the female anatomy) and is notorious for not giving back the security deposite ($1275). So...
