    Want to introduce myself as a new member. I think this site is an awesome resource for us XJ owners. I aquired an '82 550 Maxim about a year ago and have been cleaning it up to ride condition. The previous owner stored it in a barn for 5 years. It is almost to the riding stage, YESS, can hardly wait.

    I have general mechanical knowledge and have always had something with a motor on it to mess with. I hope I can offer some advice, input from time to time and look forward to sharing info, stories.

    Only 8,000 miles. Not even broken-in yet. Good find. Should be an interesting project. I wish you great success restoring is back to it's Glory Days.

    I am currently repainting the gas tank and doing some minor repairs and adjustments.

    The bike should be ready for lift off soon.

    I'll post pics when I have her back together.
