Is this the proper bit for a Seca 650?

The bike came with one of the new-style Yamaha replacements (which only sorta fit) and one from a 550 Seca doesn't fit correctly either (didn't expect it to.)

Unusual outlet pipe configuration; the vacuum pipe spigot is slanted down at about 3* from horizontal.

Is this the correct one for the XJ650RJ?

It looks like the same petcock part number 3AL-24500-00-00 was used on the XJ650's and XJ750's 1980 - 1981.

I think it's the wrong part, Fitz, I recon the fuel outlet should point rearwards, straight from the body, does it work OK?

I may be missing something, but I have here a petcock I just took off a 1982 XJ650RJ and it looks like the one pictured. The vacuum tube is tilted down slightly. So I would say you have the correct petcock.

It actually looks like the correct petcock for the 750 Seca models, due to that "long" arm on the fuel outlet plate. The 550's, 650 Maxim/Midnight Maxim, and 650RJ Seca used a petcock with a shorter length arm on the outlet plate.......

Looks just like mine, in front of the rear screw hole (above selector lever) is stamped 1B, whatever that means and on front of lever is cast 2.

Good; that was why I asked. Thank you all.

Consensus is it's for a 750 Seca; no biggie I paid a whopping $5 and it's definitely rebuildable, so if anybody with a 750 needs one...

Len, the Seca 550 unit physically fits the 650 but one of the tubes (don't remember which) bashes into the carbs if you put the tank all the way down-- I used one to get it running. Maybe same as 550 Max?

Wiz, I wasn't going to try to fit it if it was the wrong one which was why I asked. We've got a lot of guys who are intimately familiar with the 650R (yerself included if memory serves) I figured one of them would recognize it on sight, like I would one for a 550 Seca.

Can somebody with a correct 650 Seca petcock give me a pic?
