This may be a dumb question (well, actually, 2 dumb questions), but here goes:

    1) In an effort of not having to pull the entire carb bank off just to clean the idle mixture passages, would it be effective to clean them by removing the idle mix screw/washer/o-ring and then blasting the passage with carb cleaner and maybe even run a tiny wire up and down through there?

    2) When setting the mixture screws (with a colortune plug, but of course!) is it okay to leave the sync gauge on the carb vacuum nipples? And thus leave the YCIS tool inserted in the engine while adjusting the mixture screws?

    Thanks!

1 , there is big holes in there , i'd be surprised if you'd need it done , but whatever you like.

2, why not , go for it , you'll see the slight diff to the vac when you adjust the mix..

    1. Won't work, the idle mixture passages don't get clogged up, the pilot jet does. Well, actually the idle mixture passages could get clogged up but then you have bigger issues to worry about.

    1. If you don't want to pull the carbs then just add half a can of seafoam to a gallon of gas in the tank. This concentrate will do what you are thinking of. Getting the float bowls off with the carbs on the bike is next ot impossible.
    2. Leaving the sync tool on is how I do it at carb clinics. We hook everything up and tune the bike without stopping. Works great.
