yes - particularly if it comes and goes at certain speeds, the handlebars will wobble if you hold them loosely.
Also check wheel bearings, possibly steering head bearings or (As was mine) swing arm needle bearings - I sometimes got a loose feeling rear end when cornering - You could move the swing arm by hand when the bike was on the centre stand. She's still in the garage!

Mine has 36 mm fork tubes and something weird happens when 'm riding on cement with rain-groves going the same direction of travel. I think that the forks oscillate side to side individually and it feels like speed wobbles over 80. I think I'm going to ask chacal if he has fork braces, the tires aere newq and they were harmonically balanced at Yamaha little change.

padre, a front tire with a continuous center groove will "grab" at rain grooves and make the bike all nervous. If you still have the stock fender fitted, it has a good stout fork brace built into it.

For the original post, Markie's advice is spot on. ANY of those factors can cause your symptom, as can simply worn out rear shock(s.)

Everything Markie suggested plus what I suggested:

    Worn/loose steering head bearings

    Worn/loose swingarm bushings/bearings

    Worn/loose wheel bearings

Front forks in need of oil change (maybe in need of oil period if seals shot)

    Rear shock(s?) worn out

What tires are you running, and how many miles are on them?

Hi Tyres on front are Pirelli 90/90 18 51H very good treat central continuos groove type

i just realised silly me there was not enough pressure in the rear tyre it should have been 32psi but was only 20

think this might have been the problem?

Yes very much so. Makes the bike feel like you're on "greasy" surfaces.
