This is the garage at my buddy's house. It's becoming a nice bike garage and where I'll be bringing mine in the next few days. It is much better than using the spare bedroom as I have been.
Anyway, the picture is showing the home-made wood burner a couple of my friends made. It actually works really good. I got there late and they had like a day of engineering. They swapped the engine in the R1 you see part of on the lower part of the following pic, pulled the carbs on the Nighthawk, and invented this wood burner to heat the garage.

I was going to comment on your other post saying you got out of that spare room when I saw your bike in the garage

umm... yeah... notice the blurriness to the immediate right of the stove... that also looked like a bong. But it is for legal tobacco use only.

Actually the garage where bike bike has been since I put it up for winter is my mom's garage. I was actually taking parts off of the bike and bringing them back to my place to work on them.

Well the barrel isn't going to start on fire. Haha. It actually took a lot more thought than just cutting up a couple of barrels and starting fires everywhere. Haha. There is a flue in the pipe and flashing everywhere necessary. It sticks out from the side of the garage about 3 feet and has an elbow pointing straight down. It is easily disassembled for cleaning, and, of course, nothing flammable or explosive is stored near the barrel. Oh... except for the 3 tons of dynamite we found in an old, wet cave in a crate marked 1887. but no worries. We shook the crate of dynamite really good and kicked it around a little to make sure it wouldn't explode. Haha

Stick a Stove Pipe Damper in that Flue before the 90-Degree Bend.
Retain some of the heat and keep your fuel from burning-up so fast.

Suspend an Electric Fan to blow on the Hot Flue Pipe and have some of the heat warm the shop instead of going-outside.

You can get a Damper and Handle for about $8.00
You can get a Damper and Handle in a 6-Inch Pipe for a litle more.

    Rivet the sections together.

Yeah he did get a damper for it. The fan idea is a good one. We had thought about rigging up an exhaust fan but it is too loud. We also condidered running more tubes around the top of the garage and installing a couple ceiling fans.
