Is it just me or has anyone else noticed just about all side covers on Ebay are for the left side? What's the deal with the right side covers???

Battery side gets taken off and fasteners get lost. We had one guy on one of our rides loose his side cover and never knew it. One of the other guys saw it fly into the ditch. After about a hour we finaly found it.

People service the battery on the right, break tabs, they blow off, people step on the cover while it's off, the bike is sold and the battery cover is still "safe" in the shed, meanwhile the other cover is never removed.

Ahaha ... I picked my bike up about 5 months ago, and when I bought it, it had the same cover missing. DOH!

Not only that, the battery side comes on/off more so those grommets wear out first. I am SO LUCKY to have gotten the original RH side cover with my '81; you should have seen the oddball assemblage of washers and duct tape that PO had it held on with.

TIP: Buy a couple of SETS of sidecover rubber isolators and grommets.

KEEP them in your parts drawer.

REPLACE any on the bike the instant you detect any wear, tearing, any sign of weakness.

    REPLENISH your stash.

A word to the wise - if you still have your right side cover, use a wire tie or screw to hold it on or you will lose it.
