This week we got hit with small amounts for snow. Not enough to take the snowmobile out yet but winter is coming.

Yeah, some small amount of snow here in the Midwest yesterday but it all prettty much melted. It's blowing like hell right now but no precipitation.

2/10 inch (5mm for the metric crowd) officially in Detroit yesterday. Too warm to stick, but at times it was really coming down.

Had some on the ground this morning from the storms last night, and temps hovering around zero or +1. Pretty much killed my chances of doing the 13th in Port Dover this year -- 13th in Dover -- for those unfamilliar. From what I've heard, it was really only the hardcore crowd riding with snowsuits today - don't think the temp went above 3° all day, and it was showers & occasional flurries down there by the lake.

Did everyone hear about Fort Erie / Buffalo??
60cm of snow last night, 200,000 people without power, and a total travel ban on for the entire region -- hope they're doing better tonight!

We had an inch of snow here in our village last year, the first for 5o years or more. Los Ingleses were woken up as soon as it was light and invited to come out to play. Old and young were all outside having group photos taken round the little snowman they had made. Great excitment.

I cancelled Dover as well. I seen some crazies out there with ski-doo suits on. Apparently thousands still made it. Oh well, better luck next year.

I cancelled on going to Dover too..... 2°C and snowing just isn't my kind of riding weather. Last I heard about 1000 bikes showed up, and about 3000 spectators. (Note that if it's good weather, the usual is around 60,000 bikes + more specatators - not bad for a village of about 2000 people)
Saw a picture of a guy in an all fur coat & helmet combo with a massive custom v-twin that was kinda interesting.
Nuts - their all nuts I tell ya....

It's hovering aroung 65-70F during the day now, and I had to zip the liner into my jacket! 8O

But I'll be riding all winter, I'm finally starting to get some temp work, and that means morning rides. Maybe I'll be able to get a aerostitch suit soon, so in case I have to wear nice clothes to a job, I won't have to pack them with me.

The suits are expensive but I think it'd be worth it for the convenience + weather resistance. They might even be a bit nerdy, but when you don't have a car for the bad days...

    Kitty,
I like you, also love the SouthWest.
AZ is the best place for riding!!
There is only a couple of months that I usually dont ride in the winter/spring.
When the wind exceeds 70 mph (which is Feb, Mar, and part of April)
and when the white stuff is on the ground and the sun isn't shining.

The rest of the time I love it!!!

Last spring I rode to Springerville about 30 miles away in one of those 70+ mph winds, it litteraly blew some pieces off my bike! The chrome covers on the top of my forks. (guess I didn't know they were loose)

I just hate fighting the wind, thats when the Camry or the pickup are running the most.
