I have this itty bitty speedo I want to install. I have an idea sorta for a new instrument cluster.

I am keeping the indicator lights but want to get some of those L.E.D. things people put on their bikes to light up the shineys at night. The ones I am thinking about are about an inch long and oval shape. I was going to just use part of the pigtail from the old lights. Harwire the l.e.d.s in and mount them to my new bracket. I also don't want to move the ignition switch.

So I am thinking of having two light indicators on one side of the speedo and 2 on the other side.

I used the same idea using LED lights mounted right into the bracket I made for the speedometer (no tach) I used amber for the right and left signals, green for the nuetral light and red for the high beam (Radio Shack was out of blue at the time)
Here's mine before I mounted it:

I threw out a suggestion a while ago that if someone wanted an extra clean handlebar, gauge cluster and wiring, that you could relocate most of the switches to a panel under the left side of the tank.
Only you would know where everything is.
Even the throttle cable could be mostly hidden using a Honda dirt bike twist grip from the 70's. It's in the bar.
And who needs a neutral light?
    Be safe, of course.

I guess one doesn't really need a nuetral light. The wires were left there when I re-did the whole cluster-fu** so I decided to use them. I like the LEDs and use'm every chance I get.

Well my handlebars are filled with copper or something. But i actually like the look of cables and wires as long as it looks organized.
My idea is starting to become a right angle piece of diamond plate aluminum or steel with the speedo at the top. I don't have a clue. Dammit!

If I'm getting this right, you're trying to design your own instrument cluster.

One Of These or something similar could be used to mount the speedometer, if you chose to mount it separately. As far as the indicators, ...let me get back to you...
