    Hi all

I have been looking for a replacement tank for my 650rj yam, found clean one 650/550 tank on ebay and about $99, he said the inside looks clean, but I've asked for more photos, my question is that the tank looks different, same scallop sides but the arrangement where you bolt the tank down is different to mine, mine is the same but sits to the back but under the tank, and this one is visable. Does this matter?

I'll try and post pics if he sends some to me!

    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks
    Daz

The 550 tanks are shorter than the 650 tanks by a few inches. I have a 650 tank on my 550 and had to cut the seat back in order for it to fit. The mounting places match up but front mounts on the 650 are slightly wider. The tab on the 550 tank is usually covered by the seat/ pan.

There is no such thing as a 550/650 tank. It's either a 550 tank or a 650 tank. eBay listers do that all the time, most of them have no clue.

If you want it to FIT fit, then you will need another 650R tank. Neither the 550 nor the 750 will fit exactly, and even the 650 Maxim tank won't fit your bike quite right.

Emailed Chacal and I'm going to buy another 650rj tank, not going to mess around.

Oh by the way I messed up my previous tank with the por15 liner and tried to strip it thus creating a pin hole leak, I've had a horrible week, but thanks to chacal and this months wages I should back on track.

    Thanks
    Daz
