Workmate rode his 83 GS550E in today, sweet bike. I'm going to politely disagree with Ms. Secagirl. Each manufacturer had lines and styles distinctive to their respective brands. I could never mistake a Nighthawk with a Seca or KZ750, they were just as different as me and my wife (and there are bound to be a few things one would notice). Thank you for clearifying the acronym for us Secagirl, I was unaware of the application and it sounds like I wasn't the only one.

They earned the "UJM" tag because non-metric riders in the 80s couldn't tell them apart. :)

Like I said, if you're into 80s metrics, you notice that stuff. A lot of folks don't. Just look at the number of people that call all bikes "harleys" regardless of make.

Personally, I can't tell Harleys apart much, other than saying that a v-rod is "one of those things that doesn't belong with the others." I just don't care enough to learn the differences. "UAC" I guess (Universal American Cruiser).

Not trying to be the pot calling the kettle black, but I find most Harleys rather difficult to distinguish amongst themselves........same motor, different frame and accessories. 8)

I like Harleys for one reason.

The ability to take 3 motors and 4 frames and make 18 different bikes that people will fist-fight over which model is best. 8O It's good for a laugh!
