Here's my problem. My bike doesn't always want to start when I hit the starter button. As-in I push the starter button and nothing happens. The motor doesn't turn, no spark nothing. I have to put it in gear and try to "pop" the clutch (I don't always get the bike started this way if it is cold). I will try this once sometimes twice and then I can usualy use the starter button and it will start right up. This doesn't happen all the time, but when it does happen it is never at a good time.

I have checked my grounds to see if I can find a loose one, but I can't find one. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this and how to fix it.

    Thanks

Do all the warning lights come on? If not - fuse box.
Possibly the sidestand cut out switch or perhaps the starter button itself (Especially if the starter solenoid doesn't click).

You can use whichever photo editing software you use and save a copy to your hard drive, then upload it (I use Nero viewer - free!)

Or open a photobucket online picture account, then upload your pics there and resize them. You then copy the "Direct link" into a message you post and the image will be in the message. (Click "IMG" icon above the message box)

    Lastly - hello neighbour!

Well Hello neighbor. How about the sun shine today. I have checked my fuses and they are good. I think my starter and solenoid might be starting to go. It has been giving me grief that last couple days. It looks like I have some more troubleshooting to do.

I'll try some of that photo software. Thanks

Chances are more likely that the solenoid is starting to go. There are times your solenoid will go and you don't hear the repetative clicking. Instead it is shot completewly to the point where the only thing you will hear is a single click and nothing else. If it suddenly works after trying to pop start, you have an intermitantly shorted solenoid and are jarring the connection when trying to pop start it. the jarring and jerking might be putting the connection back temporarily allowing the circut to go through to the starter. Get a key and touch it to the two connections on the solenoid next time you have that problem. If it spins the starter, change the solenoid. Make absolutely sure your nuetral light is on and your bike is in nuetral before you do this.

That sounds right. I will give that a shot the next time it happens. Thanks. Do you know were a guy can get a solenoid from?

Everywhere actually. Hahaha. They are one of the many VERY common, almost routine replacement items on these bikes. I would go to chacal here on this site. You can go to a bike salvage shop, motorcycle repair shop, motorcycle dealership, or like bikebandit.com, oldbikebarn.com, or cheapcycleparts.com. And they are very easy to swap out.
