Average age of the xj'r

36. But I'm 22 when I'm on the XJ - the age I was when I first bought it.

 

From that poll, why did love for the XJs skip an entire generation of 30 to 39 year olds?

 

BikerEd's the man hope I'm still riding at that age too.

 

57 and I'm not old until I say so. Street rider since age 16.

We do seem to be divided between old farts and young whipper-snappers.
I think the group we "skipped" is trying really hard to FORGET the 80s...

 

56 feelin' younger when I'm riding...was gunna sell it gunna fix it gunna sell it ....etc.. fixed it,(still fixin' it) the best result, feeling comfortable in the saddle. Proud of my old bike that can still cut the mustard.

I created a poll for this question - so we can see it graphically. Keep posting stories here - it was not my intention to highjack this thread.

35 years old and Just bought an 81 XJ650 - my first bike! Got lucky with one that only needs some minor things done to it.

 

Using a powerful computer program, I collated the results:

age- - -poll %- - -other poll%

20's- - - 16- - - - 30
30's- - - 22- - - - 19
40's- - - 32- - - - 27
50's- - - 16- - - - 17
60's- - - 10- - - - 2

This poll looks like a single hump camel.
The 40's bracket does seem to dominate.

 

Just think - half of us are below average age.

Just spent my 28th. birthday last Tuesday.

 

Another old faht...60 here...just bought my '82 650 Maxim, which is the first bike I've had in 25 years or so.

 

I'm almost the youngest. 24 here.

 

Well, I,m up with the relics, I,m just a month shy of 60. I bought an xj650 26 years ago .rode it for 3 years,parked it in the shed when twins arrived.Then 12 months ago decided time for two wheels again and bought an '84 xj900. I.m currently in the process of restoring that 650.

 

I'm 22 and have owned my xj550 for one great season. I am in the middle of trying to convince my landlords to let me insulate the shed out back so I can tinker on my bike this cold winter in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Does anyone know of some really really cheap insulation that would keep out the -40C winter?

34... and former competitive cyclist i miss the road and the speed....im almost done with my xj 550 and will hit the road in style.. thankfully im in Miami and there is no winter so is bike season as opposed to.....

 

just bought an 82 maxim 750 and only rode it a handful of times and im 19

 

25, just bought my 80 maxim 650, just hope i can get a few rides in before snow fall

 

Just sprung 50 had the XJ 2years and ride it every day and love it rain hail and shine

 

I'll be 24 this year!!! hey I'm still a kid a heart, I just have bigger toys now !!!! LOL

 

43...And never owned a bike until 2 days ago. I've wanted one since I was 10. My wife and kid now officially think I'm crazy. Maybe.

34 Got my seca I think in 04. just got it on the road last year. only street bike ive ever owned. LOVE IT!

 

Average age of the xj'r, i'll take a guess and say 40, who's going to figure it out ?

I'm 45, had a 81 CB750 a couple years ago. Bought my 85 700 maxim last year.

 

I will be 72 next month and have owned about 30 motorcycles over the years. Had a few accidents but still trying to keep the shiny side up. Current bike is a 1982 xj650 seca, all fixed up and ready for collectors plates as soon as I find a set of tank badges at a reasonable price.
There is "life after retirement".

 

55 and feeling like a 55, that mean great and happy, most of the time, riding my XJ 400 Special every chance I got.

 

23 bought my xj750 seca 2 years ago had a xs 400 before that

i like riding my 1000 dollar bike with people that have 10000 dollar bikes that WISH they sounded as good as my xj

I'm 55, I ride every day, its my 9/th bike. but its my second dedicated street/road bike. (I had a cb350 one summer when gas was 50cents.)

 

37 Here and regret ever selling the first bike.

 

I'm 28. My 82' XJ 750 is as old as I am. I love the old gal.

 

On my second wind at 41.

 

22 and anxious to come home for spring break. hopefully the temps. rise so I get to ride!

 

47 and just started with a xj750 in August 2009.
