Here's mine. I figured if I'm going to have my feet forward, I may as well be able to shift and brake with them up there too, so I just made forward controls and lost the stock pegs all together.
*Do a search for "forward controls" and you should find some ideas.

They look good and comfortable; but will they be scrappers?

I thought the same thing myself when I got them done, but so far I have never scraped them when flying around the corners yet! They are actually about 1" higher than the stock pegs were, so I actually have more ground clearance than before. My sidestand hits on the left side first now, which is really not often. I really have to lean it over hard to get that to scrape.
So far, I have never scraped anything on the right side.

Me and a buddy conjured these up one night. They work great and have a little bit of spring in them that takes out road vibration. Plus they're great to bump into with your leg!

I had my first pair of forward controls made with just 1/4" plate from the front motor mounts, but they would bend a little and didn't feel solid enough for controls. That's when I decided to go with a bar from one side to the other, (in front of the header pipes) to make them solid.
You have to go with a fairly thick metal for the mount plates (like 5/16" or 3/8")

Heres mine on the stocker, they are 10 gauge stainless. They flex a little, but just by the bolts, the gusset on top and bottom are pretty strong.

What i did was my son gave me the stunt pegs from his bike and I drilled the threads out got a peice of pipe and an 8" grade8 bolt. What I did was I drilled the peg and the top motor mount hole to 3/8 put the bolt through the peg then the pipe through the frame and tightened. Most of the hardware I got from Homedepot.Everone asks me if the are stock and if I could make them a set. I have made a total of 4.When I get a chance I will post a pic.

Love those controls Painter! looks like a pretty simple design too. I'd love some specs on how you built those also.

PM sent Novus. Not much room there for me to get all the information posted in a PM, so I hope it helps. Let me know if you have any more questions then. PD

My pegs feel so itty bitty, I really want to get something nice and long.
    ...haha... that's what she said.
