Hello folks I could use some guidance,
a few weeks ago I go to start the bike and there is just a click and the oil light flash, so I think starter solenoid, I order a new solenoid and installed it tonight to my dismay nothing has changed. I've checked all safety switches and the problem is not there, Any help would be appreciated.

Ckeck all your battery connections, espically the engine ground straps. Sounds like a bad connection somewhere in the battery cables.

I think your right, but try to short cut the solenoid connections and see if the starter turn over as expected. If not it's either the ground connection or the starter.

Sounds like a flat battery to me. The rapid clicking is all you'll get if the battery can't hold the solenoid and spin the starter.

If the battery is new/tested good, then it's going to be a connection somewhere, be sure to check the ground straps between the engine and frame.

The first thing I would do would be to yank the battery, charge it fully, and take it to an auto parts store and have them test it for you.

Update, Started to engage the start button while tapping the starter and It is trying to engage when I'm tapping, I know it is now time to take a look, any ideas of the culprit? Also thanks to all who have been so helpful thus far.

Yup, time to clean out the starter. Get some new brushes on order now so you will have them on hand for when you reassemble the starter. I had a similar incident last year. Turned out the brushes were too short and I burned pits into my commutator. Nip this one in the bud early and don't let your starter suffer the same fate as mine. Use a good high pressure grease and make sure to mark your case and end caps, they can be reassembled backwards!

Just an update folks, broke down the starter and after a much needed and extensive cleaning the bike is starting better than ever. Thanks to all who provided the info.
