haha call him and act like hes offering the deal of the century and ask to pay more so you can secure it so nobody else buys it. what an idiot you can get a brand new bike for less than that.

Ha, Kelly Blue Book lists it at $1020 best shape! Clearly, this person doesn't want to sell that bike!

Can't go by KBB, they don't list any Norton Commando as being worth $10K or $15K but that's what they can go for.

He will probably GET that kind of money... if he waits another 10-12 years.

He's just getting ahead of the game is all.

LOL, Fitz! Yeah, I see what you mean.

I would not part with my 1980 XS11SG for less than $5000. In other words, it's not for sale.

A friend of mine, sold his 1982 XJ11 for $7500 on ebay, the check cleared and the new owner drove off. Unbelievable!

Now, the bike was pristine, and had a bunch of touring mods, including a 2nd gas tank. And I'm pretty sure that he was expecting not to sell it for that price, but for every deal, there is a buyer I guess.

It sounds to me like there are too many non standard parts to warrant that kind of money! (If he thinks it is a concours bike).

I could see someone pulling out for a bike like that, he might not get the asking, but something close.
