I though it might post this so that folks can get an idea of the possibilities of paint.

Yes this is rattle Can Paint but with Duplicolor shop clear hard as as rock when dry, chemical resistant as well.
So here is what we are looking at

1 can aircraft paint stripper (4.99)
    2 cans grey primer ( @ 1.00)
    2 cans build primer ( @ 4.99)
    4 cans metallic blue ( 4 @ 5.97)
    1 can gloss black (1.00)
    1 can flat black (1.00)
    1 can Duplicolor clearcoat (22.99)
    1 8 in polishing wheel (8.00)

I bought a paint gun kit last year and used the smaller gun to shoot the clear on the bike.

so far $65 paint job :) not quite done yet but i am getting there

also the idea on the side bars is to polish down the paint and bring the letters to a high shine and re-clear.

i am still working on my logo's, i bought some AVERY shipping lables from wally world i am going to print my logos and lettering. then stencil them in paint. my current design is either the Wesley's avitar or just the tuning forks placed adjacent to the gas cap on the black stripe. then beneath the logo YICS... still working on the font.

BTW this is un polished ... just dry clearcoat ..... you should see the color mirage it does .... :) its beautiful in the sun

Beautifully done Mid. Nice color too! Blue be good!

Don't forget to get pictures after sanding clearcoat and then again after final polish! I love comparing the various stages to each other until that final beautiful wax job!

i am anxious to finish this ... the hardest part is waiting for the paint to dry.... this truly has to be the best paint job i have ever done... must be somthing about age and paitence... i forgot to mention that the logo's and lettering is going to be done in antique white and semi-metallic cleared in before the final clear... this is going to make it JUMP out of the paint.

Nice job man! I am about to undertake the same deal on my bike but I want to do a flat black, a flat white race stripe, and a satin black design to boarder the flat white stripe. I have drawn up all my ideas and think I have one that is doable that will look nice..... My question is the clearcoat, I want it to stay flat is there a flat rattle can clearcoat that can be used and still stand up to gas ??? I have been to all the local auto shops and all I can find is clear gloss. I might just break down and call mako to have them just do a flat clearcoat.

I like that, I painted my bike almost the same color, but I left the fenders chrome. I wasn't sure how it would look. Not to shabby in my opinion, what does everyone else think. (painted fenders of not)

First off, nice job midnight! Hard work pays off.
I have thought about painting the fender myself. If i did, i would find a used one to paint and leave my nice shiny chrome alone in case i did not like the painted one. This still is on my list to do. Im wondering if the shape of the seca fender would look better painted color of bike then my maxim fender? That is if the seca would fit?
