Does any one know if the rear shocks from a honda rebel wiill fit on the 83 maxim 650? I am looking for a cheap way to lower my bike and these measure at 10.5 instead of the curent 12.5.

I installed Progressive 412 11.5" rear shock designed for the HD 883 Sportster. They work well, are stiff enough, and my 5.3" SWMBO's frame is comfortable at that height.

    Hey Skippy,

Aggieland eh? Nice, we should ride sometime

    Billy,

Try locating some 10.5's from a harley dealer, sportster shocks
They will need revamped bushings, but thats pretty inexpensive

Ha, Billy! I gotta keep "Rosie" running for more than 10 minutes! I just received the alternator parts from Chacal, so I am excited to get Rosie back together.

Truth to tell, Rosie is SWMBO's bike, so I have been riding my Kaw, since my XS11 is acting a fool right now too!

I see you are right behind Northgate. I am in Edelweiss, and work at the Bush Library. You should come by sometime.

But, yes, we should get together so I can see what an XJ, running looks like!
