Finally got Road Rash out on the road today. Got everything basically done (not ready to show you all yet since I am waiting on one last detail for my side covers).
Even the guys at Redline were impressed and they see everything there.
The guy who did all of the tuning and engine work said "Well, it sure doesn't feel like a 550 anymore) and it sure as hell doesn't. It has balls to the walls and is so open feeling. I need to adjust the clutch a little. but I'll bet if I wasn't careful it could take off from me. I am amazed by that much of it. It sounds great too.
The throttle feels great and the response is flawless.
So first ride was incredible (other than... ummm... running out of gas). Well who else is back out there?

Got mine out three different days over spring break last week and i rode around 350 miles. She runs like a charm and the new headlight makes the old one look like a candle

the weather here has been really bad recently, lots of rain and wind and stuff, the last couple days were really nice however, sunshine and 60s/70s. new fork springs and hella headlight are amazing. Bike runs alot nicer in the warmer weather. Riding just brings a smile to my face. I wish there were more xj riders nearby it would be really cool to do a group ride

I was going to ride to work since it's going to be 60 later today......but it's 30 now, and that's just a bit too cold for me. :(

I started riding mine to work yesterday. It is fun. I rode the "long" way home last night, after work. It adds about 24 miles to my commute! LOL Was nice to get on the road again. I'm waiting on my new main jets to take my carbs back to stock, then I'll go on a proper "ride," out to the world's best hotdog stand in "Little" Washington, NC.

Went out again this morning to ride some more as I did every morning last season. 38 degrees outside and the bike was dead cold. Started right up.

By showing this video, I guess I am showing the bike before I wanted to. Not completely finished yet. Still waiting on the edge trim for the custom side covers and need to polish the timing cover and crank case/clutch housing cover. But its close enough so i guess this is a sneak peak. hahaha

Wow! You must live in a safe neighborhood to be able to leave your keys in your bike. 8O

    But it sounded good.

Just got out today, riding to/from work, about 60 miles round trip. It's beautiful out there. My muffler nearly slipped off, guess I've got a couple bolts to tighten..

Actually, I went out this morning and was going to start it up but had to run back in anyway. So decided I would grab the camera and video it. It does sound good... haha. That 4 into 1 sounds awesome. And loud. but tastefully so.

Ho Hum, I had mine out this evening- "On the way to the test station, officer, honest". First ride for 5 months. Still hard to start but I think that's all down to the Chinese battery. When I bought it last summer it ran like a pig and lost power at low revs. Much better throttle response now after having the carbs apart. Hope it starts tomorrow!!!

Just got her out today for my first ride of the year, only 18 miles each way,but still enjoyable. It was about 60 deg here, last saturday it was about 70,but then back to 40 and raining till today.

Until this year,I always rode year round, but I guess I'm getting too old and wimpy, just couldn't bring myself to get out there this winter
