Hey guys, I used to own an '82 550 Maxim and loved it! But now I'm looking to get a nice Seca in Michigan.

Right now I can spend a maximum of about $2000 on a good, low-mileage example. Right now I'm situated in Grand Rapids, but will be crossing the state between here and Rochester, MI on occasion until school lets out in May.

I've found a few Maxims, but I'd like to find a Seca if that's at all possible. I'm looking for something that has more pull than my 550 did, so I'm looking for a 650cc four cylinder and up. If you are selling one or know of one that is for sale, please, let me know. It doesn't necessarily need to be an XJ either. Let me know what you've got!

    Regards,
    -Pat

I have an aquaintance that has a brand new never been run 82 XJ650, but he wants $4000 for it, which I think is very fair for new.

I have been told that the 550's are actually slightly faster than the 650's because the shaft drive is slower than the chain drive. Get yourself atleast a 750.

We're gonna find out, as soon as I can RIDE my 650. The 650 is about 100lb heavier too, I can't imagine it will out-rocket the 550 Secas. Maybe come pounding past at the end of the quarter, like the Norton.

With Secas, it will probably be easier to find a 750 than a 650; the 750 Seca was sold for three model years like the 550s, the 650 Seca was a one year bike.

Craig's List and eBay; and persistence.

No one looking to sell? Again, doesn't have to be an XJ, just faster than a 550.

as far east as you can get in michigan 43.027407,
i have a 750RJ that has some small cosmetic issues and my 900RK...

i really dont want to sell until i replace them but ive got to get rid of the 3 bikes i have now and go with just one...

its blasphemous to say, i know but im looking at an 07 bandit since i cant get a regular standard anywhere...

all three bikes (the other is a 550H, a 1981 maxim) need to go but they all could probably use a carb flush...

i cant get ONE of them out because they are packed in the garage so the wife can get her car in. if i had just one bike it would be much easier to have them out and running down the street...

Yeah, craigslist has a few things, but nothing that's blowing my skirt up. Most people want too much money for their bikes in oakland county.
