Up hwy 14 in wisconsin, to LaCross, back through Hwy 33 through Wildcat Mountain (what some call the "Little Deals Gap of the Midwest" and back down 12. We'll be taking pics and possibly videos.
We want to start really getting used to riding. Looks like we are leaving civilization once we have $100k in the bank and the BMW k 1300 GT. Its a dream at the moment but we had a development in our lives which might make that a reality. For now the xj550 maxim is going on a mini tour.

That greenish-brownish stuff on the roads is slippery !!

Sounds like fun. Swing by Hershey while you're there.

Well... we thought 45 degrees was going to be warm enough. We set out on this 8+ hour ride and were all geeked up for it. Got an hour and a half into it and it was just too damn cold. Not only that but way too windy. Not in the forcast but it was windy enough to blow the bike all over the road. So we ate at wendy's and headed home. I'll use this same thread to document the trip which we have reschedualed for Friday April 2nd. It's going to be in the high 60s that day. We need saddle bags. We only got a couple pics.
[IMG]and this is it til friday.

Ok I want to know how you hitched up the horse?haha.I hate that about those kind of days, doesn't seem cold and the sun is shining. So you jump on the bike and after a couple of minutes you come back to reality because it's alot colder at 50 or more mph especially when you don't have a windshield. BTW,nice pic.

I actually set it on a mailbox post and did the timed shot. It was like a rest area that used to be a land-fill and there was like this lone mailbox there.

    Chuckles_no,
    I remember that spot!
Looks like the temps will be alot better this week for riding. I sure would like to get down there soon and ride those roads again. ' Last time I came down I shot over to Taylors Falls (from St' Cloud) and came all the way down along the river to ride that area. It was a 12 hour day of great riding for sure. We put on over 500 miles before I got back!
I agree on the temp, you need to be bundled up pretty good to go out riding in the 40s all day. Heated grips are really nice to have too!
Hope to ride with some of the members down there this summer. PD
