problem with 650 charging system

    just got the bike .. batt would die after 1 hour of riding.. ran ok but would die when gassed.. would clean up an did put 150miles on it but now.. damn thing wont start.. gets gas.. got late no shop..so will check spark 2morow..

    can someone lead me the right way

    try charging the battery all the way up over night or something and see if it will start. then check the battery with the bike running @ above 2000RPM for 14 volts. If that isn't present it's time to start tearing into the charging system. Search around on here and you'll find the usual culprits...melted connectors, bad R/R, shorted out windings in the alternator, bad brushes on the alternator, bad wiring, etc...If you don;t have one already, get your hands on a Haynes Manual for the bike. Page 215-219 are the troubleshooting and fault isolation pages for the charging system and battery.
