my low fuel warning light doesn't seem to be turning on when I am near empty on gas.Last year I riding in the city. Was sitting at a set pf lights and started to go and the motor was starting to hesitate and die on me. Finally I switched to reservoir and motor came back.So my warning light doesn't work. What do I check here?.Is it possible bulb is burnt. How the hell do you even get to the bulb in the tach.Is the face of the tach just a friction fit placement or what?Anyone have this issue and solved it???

What bike do you have? It would be helpfull to eveyone if you put it in your signiture.

My 82 750 it is not very acurate as far as the gas gauge goes. If I am going up hill I could have 2 1/2 gal and the gauge will show empty and the warning comes on.

It could be the bulb is burned out, Could be the sending unit needs to be cleaned or is bad, or a bad conection some where.

You can access the light from the back of the tach. Take the chrome dome off (one screw toward the bottom) and the light socket is pushed in with a little rubber grommet.

The fuel sender is right in front of the petcock on the bottom of the tank.
Occasionally, the little wire will break loose on the inside but you should have a new Oring to replace the old one if you take it off since the odd of getting it to seal again aren't that great and a leaking tank makes for a bad day
