ok, I dont really know where to go so i came here, I cracked the screen on my samsung eternity... basically the top half of my screen is black, but the touch pad will still register where is it black, so like i can get to my messaging by touching a spot in the black... so I think my LCD screen is just shot...

are the touch part and the screen 2 different entities?

if I buy a replacement screen and plug it back in... will it work?

just wondering if any of you guys know about this

Go to ebay. There are dozens of screens listed, from $10 to $20 some include free shipping and installation tools. I got one for my daughters Sony Ericson. Worked like a charm. Just be careful not to break the mounting tabs when you take the old one off.

I had to replace LCD and touchscreen on my bosses HTC Touch HD. The LCD came with a screw driver and a plastic pry bar thingy, which is about all you should need. An exacto blade might help if you run into double-sticky tape.
It's kind of a PITA, but a lot cheaper than sending it in.
