Today I officially joined the ranks of XJ ownership. Traded this and $25:

She needs the front brakes redone, new fork seals and carb work (of course), as well as the last 12 years of sitting in a shed cleaned off. Anyone know a good place to pick up the turn signal housing?

You could have at least tried to do something about that Lawn Mower Seat with some Flat Black Rattle-canned touch-up or some Duct Tape.

This looks like 2010's Best Deal happening.

There is no sweeter look that all that Bright Alloy gleaming in the Sun.

Let's get this Bike all done right and on-the road.

Thanks guys! Got her on the charger right now to see if the battery will take anything. Tomorrow I'll do a little electrical checking to see what works and what doesn't. I need to clear out a spot in my garage to start the tear down.
Probably have to build a shed before I get too far into this. The tank looks clean inside, but smells like turpentine so that's definitely gonna need to be flushed out. First real work is gonna be on the front end though. I'm not planning on even trying to get her running until I know the front brakes are up to par.

Oh, forgot to mention that the deal included a factory service manual too!

Is it wrong that I just read the FSM cover to cover?
I'd like to think not, but maybe it just affirms that I'm afflicted?

Will do gitbox! It'll take me a while to get her roadworthy. Know anyone close to us with the YICS tool? Looks like I'll be needing to use one.

One thing I want to add is "new brake lines" I ordered the stainless steel lines from chacel, expensive but HUGE difference. Not sure how long I would trust the old ones.

No YICS tool but I've got most of anything else you'll need tool wise. I've also got your turn signal housing.

    WOW Nice!

But I think you should have talked it down to an old weed-wacker and pocket change. 319cc's??? That's like saying 71 horsepower for my 650

He certainly could, but I think he got it for the wife to cut the grass. She had to OK it. :)
