There's an awfully nice looking, red, '82 - 750JMax getting sold on eBay, this week.

Comes complete, with everything ... including less than 6,000 Original miles. Well ... almost everything!

    NO Title???

    I'm sorry ...

I meant to say ... less than 2,000 (two grand) Original miles.

    I'm afraid to bid!

That is a sharp ride, the title thingy is a downer.

Does anyone know if there is a process to buy an Un-titled motorcycle and do some "Do-diligence" and GET a title for it?

You might want to ask the seller about that. Seems to me there would be a provision to get the title ASSUMING the actual titled owner consented to the transfer.

I wonder if seller can give you the VIN?

My mother lives near Akron. Too bad I can't get her to help you (she doesn't know I have a motorcycle you see......)

I am only about 45 mins from Akron, let me see what I can do to figure out if it can be titled or not. Give me a couple days. I'll see what I can do. Or if there is a VIN that we can get to try to track it down one way or another.

My brother went through a title service for his Seca. I think he mailed in the Vin scratching, and bill of sale to the company anlong with $150 and got back a title, plate and registation a couple of months later. The next year he had to pay to have the title and reg. transfered over to NY (the company was in Maine so they did a Maine title and reg.). I can ask him for details if anyone is interested.

Here are the numbers off that nice untitled Max currently offered on eBay.
Which has jumped from $300.00 to $1,100.00 with 4 Days left.

Too much for me, now ... but, I sure would have liked a "Franken-bike" to experiment stuffing this 900 engine into!

In my state we dont need a title for anything that old or for anything 15 years or older.

that "no title" situation isnt a big deal if you can spend a few hundred and IF big IF the bike isnt stolen.....there are title companies online which take the bill "O" sale from you and register it then "sell" it back to you. it just isnt worth it unless there is value in the bike, that bike is nice but id say w/good title its worth $1800 so probably not worth the trouble. it is mint tho...
