Does anyone have an article about the boot between the air box and the carbs? How critical is it that all air goes through the intake funnel?

battery good? still using old glass fuse box? new air filter? carbs good and clean? fresh gas? mine was doing the same thing, it would hesitate from a stop to around 2-3 grand then be fine. after all the above was sorted it doesn't do it anymore.

    That Max-X don't need a Fuse Box.

I'd bet those MIKUNI'S need the Diaphragm Piston Bores looked after.

If the Plugs ain't in the way of the Pilot Mixtures ... you need to Tweak those babies so you're getting out of the hole like a Bat out of Hell.

If your an XL or a XXL Guy ... Bump the Main FUEL Jets up a notch.

With all them Valves ... A Max-X is no Bike to be running Lean.

A real old Battery fighting to keep-up with the demands should become a door-stop.

Don't let a weak Battery be the cause of you arriving at the next light after everybody else.
Yamaha made your Bike to ride like a Fighter Jet.
