Up for sale is my 1982 Yamaha XJ 650 Maxim. 11,345 orginal miles. Asking $850, cant go much lower. I have over $1500 tied up in it. Need to sale to pay off the irs.

    The good:

    New battery
    New spitfire windshield
    Fresh paint
The aluminum covers on the motor has been polished
New seals top and bottom end
    New oil and filter
    Valves adjusted
    Carbs rebuilt last year
New lights in the parking/brakes and running/turning lights
    New throttle cable
    New clutch and pressure plates
Ran and shifted great when all work was done at the begining of last season(parked due to not having the money for tags for truck bike and wifes car)

    The not so good:

The seat will need recovered or replaced(pan and foam is good)
It sat all last season, will need carbs cleaned(I put in the new battery, it trys to start, but wont)
Missing the side cover on the right side(Covers the battery)

I also have a spare motor that I got from a friend. I was going to turn it into a turbo Maxim. Never got around to it due to funds.

    Thanks,
    Bradley Adams

What is that decal in the middle of the tank? Could it be removed? What part of Tennessee are you in?

I am away from the house, cant get a pic of the top of the tank. It is a Jesus Christ decal. It was clear coated into the tank. I would imagine that you could take a razor blabe and lift it up, feather wet sand and reshoot the clear. Here is a picture I found on the web of the decal.

I am in Springfield about 30 miles North West of Nashville,TN
