Just thought it might be interesting to find out how long since you had a bike and what your last rides were.

    Mine
been 15 years and last rides were Kawasaki GT550 and a RD350 YPVS.
RD was one of the last, fully faired and they had civilised the powerband slightly to give better pulling power right through the rev range, it was an awesome bike for its size. Kawasaki was ok but that was about it, could not call it exiting in the least.

Been riding since 1977. First bike was a Yamaha DT360, second was a Honda CB360T, third was a Kawasaki KZ750 inline twin, third was my brand new Yamaha XJ750RJ and last is Shinden, my XJ750K. I was without a bike from May of 87 until 89 when the XJ750RJ was wrecked and I bought Shinden. Shinden was down from 2000 to 2004 with a stuck shifter. Primary guide problem so common to XJ's. Bike had over 80k miles on her so I replaced the engine with a 22k one.

I bought my 1981 Seca 550 in August of '81, used. Rode it for 12 years, then had kids and couldn't afford plates, tires, chain etc. to keep it on the road. The bike sat in the shed for 10 years, started every year, until I could get it back on the road. The last 4 years I have been a Born Again Biker!

    1974 Suzuki TC 100
    1977 Can-am MX-3 250
    1981 Yamaha YZ 125

    Since 1968:

1970 Honda Mini-Trail (they still have a similar one - now called the PW50)
    1978 Yamaha GT80

Geez I feel like such a newbie compared to all the guys above.... but once I found the Maxim I just have never found a compelling enough reason to spend money on anything else!

My first street bike was a Honda Magna V65. I purchased it back in 1996. Owned it until my son was born, in 1999. I've been having the "itch" for a two wheeler ever since I sold it. But, as luck would have it, I was able to acquire my 81 xj650 this past July (2007).

I got my first feel for it at the age of 6 with a honda 50 not sure exactly what happened to it. I bought another bike at the age of 23 but never got around to fixing it before my gf and I broke up. She sold it while I was out of state. And to round things out, I bought my current xj550 in the fall of 2008 let it sit until feb of 09 to let my wife get used to the idea of me riding, and been riding ever since.

    My first bike (1978 - 80): early 70's Suzuki A100 2-stroke (I was 15).
    Next (1981 - 84): 2 x mid 70's Kawasaki KH250's (bought when I was 18 & sold when I got married 3 years later - under pressure from my young wife).

Return to riding (2004 - present): 1984 Yamaha XJ900 (currently in pieces & awaiting repair after 2 years off the road).

    hardtail chopper.
My last bike befor the XJ650 I have now
was 10 years ago. It was a '77 Harley Sportster 1000.
And I think my next one is going to be a

    I'm seeing a trend!

Heh, also have a Honda Odyssey, Civic and a Yamaha 4-stroke 15hp Outboard!

Was a bit if a gap b/w my first street bike and my second (14yrs) but normally rented/borrowed bikes on vacation to help with the itch. Then my "condition" got more serious in the fall of 2007. so bought the Honda 750 ACE and I've been CURED every since!

Jeez, it's been a while but my first bike looked something like this, guess I'm showing my age a bit!
    [IMG] 8O
Then I had a few bikes in between, mini bikes, a moped  , assorted street stuff 8) . I still have my 85 750 Maxim-X :D that I have been secretly buying parts for (shhhh, don't tell my wife) so that I can properly resurrect if or when I can get a job again. My current ride is an 04 B12 that I use mainly for long distance stuff when decked out and the occasional "Brisk" jaunt with the luggage off   .
I also did a few years of Vintage racing on this, a 1972 350 Honda twin.
