Just curious if anybody knows the factory routing for the rear signal wiring? This is one of the few things I thought I would tackle this year. I want to finish cleaning up the wiring. The rest looks all original except for the fuse box. The taillight comes through the grommet but am not sure about the signals...

    Picture of current wiring...

Any chance anybody can take a quick look. I am planning to clean it up if possible this weekend.

It's funny, I have never even looked at the factory toolkit strapped in the back.

someone has been messing with the wiring, there should be just one tail on the loom & the turn signals should be with that.

Thanks, that is what I assumed. So the signal wires are bundled with the brake light in the same loom?

Actually, that looks about right...although the cut-off zip-ties (?) that holds the tail/brake light harness bundle to the flasher light lead wires is NOT correct, and it appears that the right turn signal leads hav been spliced (big bundle of electrical tape).

    From the assembly manual:

"Pass the tailight leads through the races (probably means "recess") in the tool box. Do not pinch the lead."

    and

"Pass the rear flasher leads between the frame and the rear fender."

There should be a push-in plastic cable bundle clamp that secure just the tail-light bundle located just in front of the rear cross-brace.

Thanks, I will clean up the wires this weekend. Somebody went a bit crazy with the electrical tape. Appreciate the replies.

    Thanks,

    Andrew
