Ok, so I'm looking on ebay for lowering struts and shorter shocks. I'm not sure which one I want to go with, but I'm curious..... with only chopping the back of the subframe off what is the lowest you guys have gone with the ass end of the bike? What are the shortest shocks and/or lowering struts you've gone with? Anyone shorter than 10"

Post up pics if you have them of your lowered bikes.

    Thanks

Look in my gallery. I have pics of some mods I done before I chopped my bike. I relocated the shocks like a lowering kit. It dropped the bike about 3 inches which would be close to a 10.5" shock. I had to adjust the shocks all the way to stiffen them when riding two up or she would rub occassionally. I'm 6'1" and weigh 235 and my daughters weigh about 130. I also had a few riders probably in the 150-160 range and never had a problem

    I'll check those out. Thanks.

I picked up the same 10" shocks that brawler has on his bike. I haven't installed them yet though. I think I'm just going to go with these until I can get the bike hardtailed.

I was going to go that route and could of had a set of shocks off of a Rebel but was afraid they wouldn't be stiff enough so i never tried them.

Why not just buy the correct shocks for the bike but in a shorter length? Lots safer that way...

I can't speak for koolaid5 but I was lowering mine temporarily and on a budget until i chopped and dropped mine. so it was safer for me to use the original shocks and just relocate where the bottom mounted. Instead of spending the money on a set of new shocks that I would use for a year.
